Nation was formed in an attempt to create a dance band that focuses on quality of music, both in performance and repertoire. By collecting the best, concert level players the "nation" has to offer, a group was created with a high level of musicianship and the capacity to play a broad variety of musical styles.

Hip and elegant, with no cheese factor, the band focuses on the best American dance tunes from the swing era through Motown and funk all the way to 90's pop, but can also do sophisticated jazz, Latin, or Brazilian music for dancing or elegant background music...Sinatra & Ella to Stevie Wonder, Salsa and more.

The core unit is very efficient, as is consists of five members and can play small or large events. The five piece can do it all, or It can be expanded to include a three piece horn section, background singers for extra punch, or Latin vocalists for lots of hot salsa. A rhythm guitarist can also be added for extra classic oldies, funk, disco, jazz, and swing. Nation features WAMMY (DC Grammies) winner Nicki Gonzales, lead female vocalist.
